Chiwoniso Maraire is the daughter of famed mbira master Dumisani Maraire. She too embraced the mbira (which she describes as something “like a large xylophone”) and has become an accomplished musician, singer, and songwriter in her own right. Her music is soulful, haunting, and deeply personal, reflecting her African heritage and her passionate interest in human rights.
