Whether collaborating with jazz great Pharoah Sanders, a group of African pygmy dancers or tabla master Zakir Hussain, Alonzo King creates dance works that strip ballet of its traditional formalities and push it into intriguing, new territory. For their UW World Series performance, the company will present Long River, High Sky, a spellbinding collaboration between ballet and the martial arts of the Shaolin monks.
